Zoomarine becomes the official sponsor of young sailor João Pontes during the year 2024, with the aim of supporting the continuous progress and success of the Algarve athlete, who aims to qualify for the 2028 Olympics.
This sponsorship aims to support the Algarve athlete in the development of his journey towards qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and is aligned with the theme park’s social responsibility strategy, which aims to invest in athletes from the region, supporting them in their sporting journey.
A sailor from the Naval Club of Cascais, Ambassador of Sailing appointed by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), and with the status of Olympic Hope assigned by the Portuguese Olympic Committee, at just 18 years old, João Pontes already has several national titles and results in the main regattas of the international circuit.

João Pontes, Portuguese sailor, emphasizes that “this sponsorship is very important for the path I intend to continue to develop to become one of the athletes competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. João Pontes’ first competition with Zoomarine sponsorship will take place in Palma de Mallorca from March 16 to 23 and counts towards the U21 European Championship.
