Zoomarine is celebrating the birth of three white-fronted parrot (Amazona albifrons) chicks, a milestone event for the park and an important indicator of the well-being of this tropical species. The chicks were born at the beginning of July and, after weeks in the comfort and safety of the nest, they began to develop down and explore their habitat with greater independence. Today, at 12 weeks old, they are fully feathered and perfectly integrated into the extended family of tropical birds, actively participating in feeding times, rich in fruit, seeds, berries and leaves.
The arrival of these chicks represents a positive contribution to the social cohesion of this species, whose organisation is complex and structured. The integration of new members strengthens social bonds and promotes the general well-being of the group, allowing the young to learn essential behaviours and skills from the adults.
White-fronted parrots live in flocks, where social bonds play an important role in their healthy development in their healthy development. At Zoomarine, we provide these social dynamics, allowing the species’ natural behaviour to be maintained.
The birth of these three cubs is a reflection of Zoomarine’s ongoing commitment to conservation and animal welfare, and is testimony to the tireless work of our dedicated team.
The new arrivals can be seen in the habitat Américas.
